WARRANTY
At Edje Concrete, we stand behind every piece that leaves our studio. This warranty is designed to give you confidence in your purchase and clarity about how we'll support you if something goes wrong.
What's Covered
Edje Concrete warrants that the concrete component of your piece will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for 24 months from the date of delivery, provided it is used in accordance with our intended purpose, installation guidelines, and Care & Maintenance instructions.
This warranty covers the concrete only. It does not extend to sealers, coatings, or surface treatments, which naturally wear over time and depend heavily on how the piece is used, cleaned, and maintained.
What You Need to Do
To make a warranty claim, you must:
– Have made payment for the goods in full.
– Notify us of any apparent defect within five business days of discovering it.
– Submit your claim within the 24-month warranty period.
– Allow Edje Concrete to inspect the piece at its installed or usual location.
What's Not Covered
This warranty applies to defects arising from normal and intended use only. It does not cover damage, deterioration, or issues resulting from misuse, neglect, incorrect installation, improper care, or circumstances outside our control.
General Exclusions
– Structural or surface damage from improper use or abuse.
– Discolouration or cracking caused by normal wear and tear, use beyond intended purpose, mishandling, or physical impact.
– Damage from excessive heat — including thermal shock from placing hot items directly on the surface.
– Failure to follow Edje Concrete's installation guidelines or Care & Maintenance instructions.
– Accidental damage, chips, or impact damage.
– Damage from sitting, standing, or placing excessive weight on unsupported areas (e.g. overhangs or fireplaces without adequate structural support).
– Scratches from insufficient care, including dragging objects across the surface or not using a chopping board.
– Staining resulting from failure to promptly wipe spills.
– Hairline cracks (generally under 1mm) — these are a natural characteristic of concrete, not a manufacturing defect.
– Natural variations in colour, shading, texture, air pockets, or pinholes — these are inherent features of handcrafted concrete.
Sealer Exclusions
The sealer is not covered under any circumstances. Sealer damage, discolouration, or deterioration resulting from any of the following is excluded:
– Regular wear and tear.
– Tinted products such as makeup, hair dye, or similar.
– Abrasive, acidic, alkaline, or chemical cleaners.
– Acidic (acetic-cure) silicone used during installation — neutral-cure silicone must always be used.
– Standing water.
– Failure to maintain or clean correctly.
– Scratches from inappropriate use.
– Delamination caused by tapes or adhesives applied to the surface.
Installation & Structural Exclusions
– Cracking caused by overtightened or incorrectly installed wastes.
– Issues from un-level cabinetry or inadequate structural support.
– Damage occurring during relocation of the product after installation.
– Modifications, repairs, or refinishing carried out by anyone other than Edje Concrete.
Environmental & External Factors
– Fire, lightning, flooding, or other natural or man-made events.
Transport & Installation
Products not installed or transported by Edje Concrete are done so entirely at the customer's own risk. We cannot be held responsible for damage arising from incorrect installation or third-party transportation.
Additional Costs
Edje Concrete is not responsible for any associated costs that may arise in connection with a warranty claim, including:
– Plumbing or electrical works.
– Cabinetry or structural adjustments.
– Flooring or tiling.
– Damage to vanities or structures during removal or reinstallation.
The Handcrafted Nature of Concrete
Every Edje Concrete piece is individually made by hand. Variations in colour, texture, pinholes, surface finish, and shading are inherent characteristics of concrete — not defects. Samples and showroom pieces are a guide only and cannot guarantee an exact match to your finished piece.
Non-Transferable Warranty
This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable. It cannot be passed on to a subsequent owner of the property or product in which the piece was originally installed.
