TERMS & CONDITIONS
These Terms and Conditions apply to all purchases from Edje Concrete. By placing an order with us, you agree to these Terms and Conditions as well as our Care & Maintenance Guidelines and Warranty.
Scope of Work and Exclusions
-
Installation includes only the installation of concrete elements unless otherwise specified.
-
Edje Concrete does not supply or install plumbing or electrical fittings, tapware, white goods, signage, or similar.
-
We do not provide plumbing, electrical work, structural modifications, cabinetry alterations, wall/floor levelling, or removal of existing fixtures.
-
Benchtops must be installed onto builder-prepared surfaces. Structural support is the responsibility of others.
-
Our installation accounts for horizontal movement only. Vertical movement and settling remain the builder's responsibility.
Access and Delivery Conditions
-
Delivery requires clear and level site access, with suitable structural support.
-
Any restricted access, cranage requirements, abnormal delivery conditions, or site delays may incur additional charges.
-
Clients are responsible for advising us of any difficult access conditions in advance.
Colour, Finish, and Variations
-
Concrete is a handcrafted material. Variations in colour, texture, pinholes, surface finish, and shading are natural and expected.
-
Samples are guides only and will not exactly match final products.
-
Each piece is unique. Differences between batches, environmental conditions, and sealers may lead to variation.
Care, Maintenance, and Warranty
-
All Edje Concrete products are sealed before delivery. Proper care and maintenance are essential to maintain appearance and performance.
-
Warranty excludes damage resulting from misuse, impact, staining, inappropriate cleaning products, or failure to follow our Care & Maintenance Guide.
-
Clients are responsible for reading and following the Care & Maintenance Guide provided with their purchase.
Payment Terms
-
For custom benchtops, payment stages typically include deposits upon acceptance and check measure, balance payments before delivery/installation, and final payment upon completion.
-
For basins, furniture, and other items, full payment is required prior to manufacture.
-
Goods remain the property of Edje Concrete until payment is received in full.
-
Defects or touch-ups will be addressed only after final payment has been received.
-
Due to the custom nature of our work, cancellations are not accepted after confirmation. Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable once production has commenced.
Alterations and Variations
-
Changes to design or specifications after manufacturing has begun will incur additional material and labour charges.
-
If Edje Concrete does not perform the final site measure, the client is fully responsible for the accuracy of provided dimensions, cut-outs, sink locations, and ensuring cabinetry and supports are level and suitable.
Integrated Concrete Features
-
Integrated sinks, drain grooves, and ramps require extra care and maintenance.
-
These features are more prone to liquid pooling, hot objects, and sharp utensils that may cause staining, cracking, or sealant failure.
-
Clients acknowledge and accept the additional care required and understand such wear is not considered a manufacturing defect under warranty.
Heat Considerations
-
GFRC is non-combustible under many conditions but direct or high heat can damage concrete, including causing cracks.
-
Clients must ensure GFRC is suitable for their intended use, especially around fireplaces, BBQs, or ovens.
-
Protective measures (like trivets) are required to prevent heat damage.
-
Heat-related cracking is not considered a fault under warranty.
Cabinetry and Structural Support
-
Edje Concrete is not responsible for failures due to inadequate or unlevel cabinetry or structural support.
-
Water pooling caused by unlevel cabinetry can damage the piece and is the client's responsibility.
-
Any such issues, including assessment and repair costs, are the client's responsibility.
Waterfall Ends or Legs
-
Internal faces of waterfall ends or legs will have a different finish than the top and sides due to production methods.
-
These differences are normal and not considered defects.
Hairline Cracks
-
Hairline cracks (generally under 1 mm wide) do not impact structural integrity or function and are a normal characteristic of concrete.
-
Hairline cracks can develop over time and are not considered defects.
Weight Considerations
-
Avoid placing excessive weight on unsupported sections like overhangs, edges of dining tables, or bench seats.
-
Standing or applying concentrated loads to unsupported areas can cause cracking or sagging over time.
Duty of Care
-
Clients have a duty of care for the product once in their possession.
-
Damage resulting from misuse, scratching, staining, or impact is not considered a product fault.
-
Clients will be responsible for the cost of any repair or replacement required due to such damage.
-
A Care & Maintenance Guide is provided to support proper care practices.
Damage After Delivery or Installation
-
Once delivered or installed, Edje Concrete is not responsible for any damage caused by other trades, contractors, or site activities.
-
Clients should ensure all trades exercise appropriate care around installed concrete products.
Collection and Transport
-
Clients may choose to collect items from our workshop.
-
For large or heavy items, delivery and professional installation by Edje Concrete is strongly recommended.
-
Packaging for collection will incur additional charges.
-
For transport, use of an A-frame is recommended to avoid damage.
-
Once items leave our workshop, Edje Concrete is no longer responsible for any damage during transport.
-
Collection signifies client acceptance of the condition of the piece.
